Meet Molly —

Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner in Asheville, North Carolina

Molly McConnell collaborates with clients to design the Ayurvedic lifestyle that best suits their unique needs for intentional nourishment, ritual and rest. Her mission is to build individual and collective resilience as a key strategy for co-creating a more just and sustainable world.

As a NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, emergent strategist, yoga instructor of more than a decade and the co-founder of Cultivate Balance, Molly has worked diligently to create an Ayurvedic practice and educational platform that centers collective wellness and radical self care.

With a bachelor’s degree in Women and Gender Studies and more than 2,000 hours of Ayurvedic study and clinical experience at Alandi Gurukula, Molly is a lover of both learning and unlearning. She is humbled to share this ancient wisdom as it intersects with more contemporary movements of feminism, liberation and justice.

If you’re looking for a process guided by curiosity, embodied listening and the rhythms of nature…

You are in the right place.

With a predominant kapha dosha, Molly embodies the qualities of earth and water to hold space and listen deeply. She is patient, intentional, and very inspired by nuance. Her unique multidoshic approach serves to witness you in your wholeness, identifying exactly where each of the 3 doshas showing up in your body and mind, as well as in your relationships and surroundings.

Working with Molly is an invitation to come home to yourself by reconnecting to what your body is calling for. The integration is about orienting toward what feels good and right for you, within the beautiful and vastly customizable container of Ayurveda. This thoughtful and intuitive approach gives you the key to unlocking a deeper understanding of who you are, what you need, and how to navigate the ebbs and flows of life.

  • The three doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) and how they're showing up in your body

  • Your current diet and lifestyle habits, as well as primary wellness challenges or imbalances

  • Strategies for integrating Ayurveda in a way that supports ease, inspiration, resilience and quality of life

  • Specific recommendations, routines, remedies and practices based on where you are in life

  • Any questions, curiosities or uncertainties you may have, as well as barriers or limitations

Molly is available to meet with local Asheville clients in-person (location TBD) or virtually via Zoom.

Ayurveda and Your Health

Ayurveda is an ancient system of health that focuses on the complete person including body, mind and spirit. This lived wisdom understands that people are more vulnerable to health conditions when vital energies of the mind, body and spirit are out of balance. Ayurveda thus teaches that by balancing the various mind-body functions with the rhythms and elements of nature, the natural intelligence of the body will automatically bring itself to wellness over time. Ayurveda is not a “quick fix,” and it is the individual’s intentional implementation of the appropriate Ayurvedic practices that brings about improved health and wellness.

Our Mission

Cultivate Balance is the joint practice of Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners Molly McConnell, ERYT and Sierra Brashear, MA. We are both graduates of the Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula 2000+ hour Ayurvedic Practitioner program, where we studied under world renowned Ayurvedic Doctor, Alakananda Ma.

Our mission is to build individual and collective resilience through Ayurvedic Lifestyle Design as an emergent strategy for growing our capacity to embody the just and sustainable world we know is possible. Cultivate Balance provides personal consultations, virtual workshops, in-depth lifestyle programs, community wellness and consulting that support you (and your community) to nurture yourself so you can nurture the world.

Our approach to wellness invites a deep understanding and appreciation for your individuality, offering self care practices that inspire you to celebrate your strengths and overcome your challenges...so you can show up to do your life’s work. The focus is on nutrition, lifestyle routines and self care practices that support you in honoring the most balanced expression of your authentic nature. It is by reclaiming internal balance that your body can heal itself and lasting wellness becomes available.

Rooted in Ayurveda, our wellness systems weave ancient wisdom for holistic healing into the modern context. We seek to ensure this powerful knowledge is accessible to all who desire to embark on a journey of renewal.

Thank you so much for your warmth and patience. When we started working together, I was struggling with energy, food and purpose. You helped me shift my lifestyle into one of comfort with Ayurveda. You gave me permission to nourish my body and give myself love and space to heal. I am so grateful to have met you and look forward to growing my Ayurvedic practice even more in the future! You are truly a light in this chaotic world.
