Hi, I’m Molly

Do you know what happens when you allow yourself to receive the gift of in-home Ayurvedic care? Deep integration, alignment and healing become possible.

ABOUT Me

As a NAMA Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner, emergent strategist, yoga instructor of more than a decade and the co-founder of Cultivate Balance, I have worked diligently to build an Ayurvedic practice and educational platform that centers collective wellness and radical self care.

With a bachelor’s degree in Women and Gender Studies and more than 2,000 hours of Ayurvedic study and clinical experience at Alandi Gurukula, I am a lover of both learning and unlearning. I am humbled to share this ancient wisdom as it intersects with more contemporary movements of feminism, liberation and justice.

My mission is to build individual and collective resilience as a key strategy for co-creating a more just and sustainable world. For me, this work starts at home. This is why I’m committed to serving my local Asheville community and the surrounding area.

Home centered

Discover the qualities that build, nourish and sustain.

I have always been deeply reverent for the home — any home. I love to host, to cook in other people’s kitchens, and to imbue care into any space I enter. With my earth and water nature, I orient very naturally to building and sustaining intentional, peaceful spaces.

The home is where we seek rest, refuge and nourishment, but sometimes these core pillars can feel unsteady or out of reach in our own spaces. I am here to help you transform this experience by allowing you to feel deeply cared for in your own home.

As an Ayurvedic Practitioner, I embed the holistic theory and practice of this ancient healing science into how I show up for you.

Having Molly in our home after my daughter’s birth was a godsend. Everything felt so new, hard, and overwhelming and Molly was a steady, gentle, and encouraging guide.

She prepared delicious, nutrient dense meals that fed my soul as well as my body. I struggled with breastfeeding and with Molly’s aid in calming me, providing me with foods that supported my milk production, and keeping me hydrated I actually tripled the amount of milk I produced. As a scared, first time mom, this meant everything to me. Looking back, I see now the most important thing Molly did was help me boost my confidence and reduce my new mom anxiety so my body was able to care for my baby.

Molly was a delight to have in our home. She brought lightness and laughter to our days. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and intuitive and so was able to provide me with the nourishment I needed. I am forever grateful for the time she spent with my family.

Ayurveda and Your Health

Ayurveda is an ancient system of health that focuses on the complete person including body, mind and spirit. This lived wisdom understands that people are more vulnerable to health conditions when vital energies of the mind, body and spirit are out of balance. Ayurveda thus teaches that by balancing the various mind-body functions with the rhythms and elements of nature, the natural intelligence of the body will automatically bring itself to wellness over time. Ayurveda is not a “quick fix,” and it is the individual’s intentional implementation of the appropriate Ayurvedic practices that brings about improved health and wellness.

Our Mission

Cultivate Balance is the joint practice of Certified Ayurvedic Practitioners Molly McConnell, ERYT and Sierra Brashear, MA. We are both graduates of the Alandi Ayurveda Gurukula 2000+ hour Ayurvedic Practitioner program, where we studied under world renowned Ayurvedic Doctor, Alakananda Ma.

Our mission is to build individual and collective resilience through Ayurvedic Lifestyle Design as an emergent strategy for growing our capacity to embody the just and sustainable world we know is possible. Cultivate Balance provides personal consultations, virtual workshops, in-depth lifestyle programs, community wellness and consulting that support you (and your community) to nurture yourself so you can nurture the world.

Our approach to wellness invites a deep understanding and appreciation for your individuality, offering self care practices that inspire you to celebrate your strengths and overcome your challenges...so you can show up to do your life’s work. The focus is on nutrition, lifestyle routines and self care practices that support you in honoring the most balanced expression of your authentic nature. It is by reclaiming internal balance that your body can heal itself and lasting wellness becomes available.

Rooted in Ayurveda, our wellness systems weave ancient wisdom for holistic healing into the modern context. We seek to ensure this powerful knowledge is accessible to all who desire to embark on a journey of renewal.
